Meet Kelli

Hi!  I'm Kelli and I'm so glad that you found my blog!

I'm a Texan, born and raised...all my 33 years!  I love to travel and learn about other cultures, but the good Lord has kept my permanent home in the Lone Star State where I met my amazing other half, Kevin.

There might have even been a lot of cowboy boots at our wedding...

I'm a Baylor Bear...

I now work as a CPA for a media/outdoor advertising company.  (No fun photos of that!  Unless you want to see me preparing a tax return. Ha!)

Kevin and I have two perfect doggies, Luci and Riley, who think that they're humans, shed like crazy, but we love them to death and can't imagine life without them.  They're our babies!

I love the color green, Mexican food, Thai food, traveling, red wine and cooking.  I wish I could say I'm an amazing cook, but I'm not...I'm great at executing other people's recipes and can make up a few of my own but I usually keep it simple and try to cook healthy.

My family is so important to me, both biological and the one I married into...

In December 2015, my husband and I became licensed foster parents.  We had one short placement of an 11-year-old boy in February 2016 before he went back to family.  A short 2 weeks after that, we took in 3 siblings, ages 10 (boy), 11 (girl) and 16 (girl).  It's most definitely been a roller coaster of a ride, but we're just following the Lord's calling and want to be a safe, loving home for kids that have been put in less-than-ideal situation with their families.  I can't share photos of their faces, but I'll do what I can to keep y'all updated.

Most importantly, I am a sinner saved by grace.  Jesus Christ is my reason for living and the One I aim to glorify with my life.  I am not perfect, but strive to just live for God one day at a time.

Thanks for stopping by!  I always love your comments, so comment away!!

  7. So great to "meet" you today, Kelli. I love your devotion to being a foster parent. Kids need as much support and care while they find a permanent home, and from the looks of it, you and your husband are doing a great job of providing them a safe and loving environment in the meantime. Thanks for joining us this week on #shinebloghop100!
