All I think about is food...

Hey friends!  Sorry I've dropped off the face of the blog-earth lately!

I know I say this every time, but seriously, work is just crazy.  I'm hoping things slow down a bit so that I can get home at a decent time and spend a little time working on the blog.

I'm trying to keep up with reading some posts but I haven't been wonderful.  Please forgive me!

First things first...NEXT Wednesday is the Monthly Faves link-up!  Get your posts ready to share!  I can't wait to read what your January favorites were!

A Deeper Joy

Since work is NOT exciting to blog about, food kept coming to mind when I thought of this week.  So today's post mostly revolves around food. Ha!  Our cleanse last week was great!  I felt great and lost a few pounds.  Now that the Superbowl is coming up, I'm gaining it back - grrr!

And here's why...

{ONE}

This week, I made Ali's "Best Chicken Enchiladas Ever".  They were pretty darn delicious!  I wish I had made my sauce using her red enchilada sauce recipe though.  I used store-bought but next time, I'm making hers!

{TWO}

Ok here's my only healthy food item!  I bought this Naturade Soy Protein from HEB (also found on Amazon) and it's pretty good!  I'm tired of the flavor of my vegan protein so I needed a change. My smoothies taste MUCH better using this protein.

{THREE}

I start salivating when I think of Superbowl party foods!  On Sunday, we're going to a party with some of our new church friends and I'm bring a couple of my favorite (unhealthy) snacks.  I'll be making jalapeno poppers!

And because we're talking jalapeno poppers, here are a couple of my favorite recipes that you'll love!

{FOUR}

I don't have a photo of this, but listen up!  My hubby's queso is the best queso ever.  It's VERY unhealthy so we don't make it often, but it's perfect for parties like this.  Here are the ingredients:

Ground beef (cook in Ortega taco sauce)
Velveeta cheese
Tostitos jarred queso
Green chilis

That's it.  It's amazing!  I think it's the taco sauce that makes it a little more unique.

{FIVE}

Did you see Tiffany's Game Day recipes??  I drooled reading this post.  She's heading to AZ for the Superbowl because she and her hubby are crazy Seahawks fans!  I'm sure she'll have some fun stuff to talk about after so don't forget to check it out next week!

Have a great weekend, friends!  Be safe and enjoy the festivities!

January Ipsy Glam Bag

I love my Ipsy Glam Bag this month!  Ipsy is getting better and better and knowing what I like so my bags are tailored to my tastes.

The Ipsy subscription is only $10 per month and you get 5 new makeup, hair or skin products to try as well as a cute little bag.  If you want to check it out, go HERE.

So far, I'm loving the brush, eye shadow and lip balm!  The eye liner is such a light grayish color that you can barely see it on your skin.  I don't really like it.  I haven't had a chance to try the nail polish yet, but it looks like one that I'll like.

Have you tried any of these products before?  If so, what did you think??

I'm seriously getting a good makeup collection.  I am running out of room in our little house!

I hope your week is going well, friends!

Weekending + A Cleanse This Week!

Hey friends!  Sorry I've been away for so long!  This is a busy time for CPAs...boo tax provision.  I've been working late hours.  I think it's finally slowing down so hopefully I'll get home at a decent time.

Friday we were bums - I got home late and we went to bed early.

Saturday I went to a 5k hosted by my new church.  It was cold!!  But I had a great time...I'm getting to know my new small group and I love them.

That night, I had sushi and wine.  My favorite!  (mostly because I can't have either of those this week)...

So this week, Kevin and I are starting the Clean Program!  We're excited!  I've done it before and I felt the best I've ever felt in my life.

It's pretty simple.  We just do a smoothie for breakfast and for dinner and then have a solid lunch.  You cut out certain foods that people are typically allergic to or have digestion issues with.

Basically, these are the guidelines...

EAT

whole vegetables, leafy greens
whole fruits & berries
wild fish, organic chicken and turkey
brown rice, quinoa, gluten-free grains
beans, legumes, lentils
nuts, seeds, & nut butters
avocado & coconut oil
green tea, yerba mate
stevia

DON'T EAT

gluten
dairy
beef, pork, eggs, raw fish
corn, soy
tomatoes, eggplants, peppers,
potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes
bananas, strawberries, oranges,
grapes
peanuts, peanut butter
coffee, soda, alcohol
processed sugar

Here is more info and the reason behind the cleanse...

I hope to be able to post this week!  Miss you, friends!!

December Favorites Link Up!!!

Hey friends!  Well, we're back in the swing of things after a good holiday break.  Work is crazy busy right now but should lighten up in a couple weeks.

I feel almost overwhelmed thinking back to December and all of my favorites.  There are so many!  So let's get started!

Don't forget to check out Mia's faves as well!

{BEAUTY}

I mentioned the tarte lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara when I got it in my December Ipsy bag.  Can I just tell you??  I love it!  I'll be buying some more after it's gone.  It's makes my eyelashes so long and full.

So many items in my post today are from my wish list that I made back in December.  Thank you, hubby and family, for getting me so many of the items I wanted!!

My mom got me the Clarisonic Mia 2 for my birthday and I love it so far!  My face hasn't broken out and seems so clean all the time.  Only issue, and maybe I'm doing something wrong...it doesn't seem to hold a charge as long as it's supposed to.  What am I doing wrong?  Is there a secret?

{FASHION}

I got the navy Kate Spade studs and the white Kendra Scott Elle Drop Earrings and I love them both!

Now for the fun fashion items!!!

I got this awesome Christmas t-shirt from my sister!  Anyone else love Home Alone like we do?!?!

I'm going back to the glory days.  My hubby got me a fanny pack!  I'm going to be just as cool as I was when I was 10 years old!  I know you're jealous!

I'm kind of in love with my crazy leggings!  I got them for $7 at the Fredericksburg Trade Days.

{RANDOM}

The hubs also got me the exact white robe that I was wanting!  I was pretty surprised!  It is heavenly...SUPER SOFT!!!!

I bought this Starbucks mug for the white elephant gift exchange at my work, but couldn't part with it so I kept it for myself and bought another one for the exchange.  Haha!  I have been drinking coffee in it often!!

Now it's your turn to share your December Favorites!  I'm looking forward to seeing them!
