2015 Goals // Happy New Year!

Happy New Year's Eve folks!!!!

So...I'm not a big New Year's Resolutions kind of gal, but this year I thought I'd at least set some goals for 2015.  They're not high and lofty, but just some areas in which I need improvement and I want to get them in writing.

ONE \\ Spend time with the Lord daily.  This is the most important one which is why I'm putting it first.  I feel like it's something I have to re-commit myself to often because I fall off the wagon constantly.  I haven't been good at this and have found myself down quite often. I know that this is the answer to it, yet it seems hard to do lately.  Lately, I choose Netflix over time with my Best Friend and Father. Will you please pray for me?  Please pray for that passion and desire to do it every day.

TWO \\ I know this is so cliche, but....establish a workout schedule.  Here's the truth - I've gained 10 lbs in the last year and though I'm not going to obsess over weight, I'd like to fit back into some of my jeans. :)  AND, when I'm exercising regularly, I just feel better overall.

THREE \\ Along with #2, make it to my gym's spin class at 5:45am MWF.  Getting up that early is tough for me, but I know that if I get into the routine, it's not tough anymore.

FOUR \\ Get involved in a church here in San Antonio.  We think we've found one we like which is exciting!  We're joining a small group starting next week so we'll start getting to know people that way.

FIVE \\ Spend more time with my sisters.  Now that I'm close to my sisters, it's so much easier to see them than when I was in Dallas.  With the hustle and bustle of life, I sometimes go weeks without seeing them so I want to make an effort to see them more often.

SIX \\ Work on letting only positive things come out of my mouth.  Sometimes I find myself complaining instead of using my words to encourage others and glorify God.  I want to live by this verse...

Have fun and be safe tonight, friends!  I hope the Lord blesses your year to come!

December Ipsy Glam Bag

Hey friends!  I hope you had a really wonderful Christmas!  I had a great time with my family and friends.  I didn't take any of that time to work on blog posts, but I've got a quick one for ya today!

I still haven't gotten my November Ipsy Glam Bag because they sent it to the wrong address but I do have my December one!

I've been using the Beauty Without Cruelty Facial Cleanser with my new Clarisonic and I'm liking it!

The other day I used the NYX Butter Lip Balm.  I like the feel of it but really don't like the color.  It's the same color as my skin.  I have to put lip gloss over it to make it look ok.  I think another color would be great though!

I LOVE the tarte mascara!  I seriously may buy some once I use this one up.  My eyelashes looked so long and full after using it.

Want to try Ipsy too?  It's just $10/month and you get great products to try and a really cute bag each month.  I don't get paid for you doing it, just get points. :)  Sign up HERE!

Happy Monday!!

Weekending with the Buekers!

Hey friends!

Life has been craaaaaaazy!!!!  My new job is so busy and you know...the holidays are crazy!

But now I'm off for 2 weeks and I'm excited!  I need some downtime and am really hoping to get a little blogging time in as well.

This was a good weekend!  On Friday, I chilled with a glass of wine and Netflix.

Isn't my monogrammed adult sippy cup/wine tumbler cute?!  A while back, I bought one for Tiffany for her birthday and one for myself.  It's from an awesome Etsy shop, ForPoshSake.  Save it in your Favorites for when they start back up in January!

I also received my new Plum Paper planner for 2015 in the mail!  I was SUPER excited!  I love it so far!  It's a bit big for my purse but cute.  I'll figure something out.  Check out Plum Paper on Etsy HERE.

Ummm...can you tell I love monogrammed things?!

On Saturday, my sister-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew came to visit.  We shopped a little (I bought one of those big snoogle pillows for pregnant girls for my SIL...I want one when I get prego!), had dinner at The Luxury and then went to the Riverwalk with them and some of my family!

outdoor, food truck-like, delicious food

they give you these instead of order numbers :)

(my sister and her fiance) rent-a-bike, anyone?!

We opened presents with our SIL, BIL and nephew that night.

Sunday just involved an amazing brunch and more shopping!

Linking up with the fabulous, Biana, today!

I hope you all have a great week!

Celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas with My Hubby

I recently read a post by Maggie at Sparks from the Soul called Creative Ways to Love Your Spouse This Christmas.  It really resonated with me and made me start thinking about ways that I can love my hubby during this crazy season.  Things can be so busy and sometimes we lose sight of what really matters during Christmas - first and foremost, God's gift to us, Jesus Christ and secondly, loving our families.

Family isn't always a positive thing for some people so Christmas can be hard.  Sometimes it brings back bad memories or reminds us of what we don't have.  So I am trying to make it a point to love others, specifically my husband, in unique ways.  I'm still brainstorming and wish I had started sooner!

I just wanted to share one simple way that I got from Maggie...

I'm doing the 12 Days of Christmas Cards for him and it's fun!  Each day, he turns over a card a it either has a compliment/encouragement, an activity for us to enjoy together or a gift for him.

I'm hoping that he feels special and extra loved this Christmas.

What are some ways that you show special love to others during this season??

**Oh...and today's my birthday!  Yay!  I'm turning 21 :)  Ha!  I wish!!!  Enjoying some time with my family this evening!

When blog friends meet up in Seattle...

Happy Friday, my friends!

As you probably already know, I got to hang out with Tiffany from A Touch of Grace this past week which was a blast!  Tiffany and I met through our blogs.  If you had told me a year ago that I'd be meeting a "blog friend", I'd laugh, but it's become a reality and I feel so blessed!

Let me back up a bit...

The first blog friend that I met was Jen from Whimsy At Heart.  She has been such a blessing in my life as I've learned about essential oils through her and developed such a great friendship with her.

And I knew Caroline from In Due Time before I started blogging, but really got to know her better through our blogs.  Since then, we've shopped, gotten pedicures and talked essential oils together!

So my 5 on Friday this week is about my trip to Seattle!  I was there for 5(ish) days so here ya go...

I flew in Wednesday night and Tiffany picked me up from the airport.  We immediately was like hugging a best friend of many years though it was our first time to meet.  It was surreal!

On Thursday, we spent the day walking around downtown Seattle - shopping, Space Needle, Monorail, etc.  Can I just say...I am in love with Seattle!

Starbucks with the Starbucks girl :)

Seattle gum wall

Pike Place Market

best freaking mac-n-cheese I've ever had in my life

original Starbucks

Space Needle

Happy Hour at Palomino

That night we had wine, cheese, crackers, and smoked salmon and played Cards Against Humanity with her hubby and friend.  It was so much fun.

Me and Little A!

Snoqualmie Falls and Wine Tasting in Woodinville

Young Living essential oils party at Tiffany's

Essential oil mimosas!

That night, her hubby made us the best "holiday drinks" ever!  All I can remember is hot chocolate, butterscotch schnapps, peppermint schnapps :)

And I left the next day :( But it was amazing trip!  I'm so grateful for Tiffany and her family hosting me!

saying goodbye

So meeting blog friends in real life isn't as weird as it sounds.  It took me convincing my husband (FOREVER) that Tiffany wasn't a 50 year old man that was going to murder me.

Have a great weekend, friends!!!
