{Guest Post} Beauty Tips and Tricks

Hey friends!  Today, one of my newest blogging friends is taking over the blog.  Lily from Beauty with Lily is so helpful in teaching me about beauty tips!  I won her giveaway a while back and now like red lipstick...crazy!  I'm excited to have her post today...hope you enjoy!

Hey ladies! I'm so happy to be guest posting on Kelli's blog today! I was so excited when she first asked me, I immediately started brainstorming and the idea of blogging about my top beauty tips and tricks popped in my head. Perfect! Who doesn't want to learn about new techniques, products that are multitaskers, and then some!

My name is Liliana, but please, call me Lily! I have been blogging for over a year, over at Beauty With Lily...there you'll find tons of beauty and fashion related posts.

Thanks again Kelli, I have really enjoyed getting to know you through your blog!

Beauty Tips & Tricks

  • You are already in the shower when you realize you forgot to buy shaving cream? Easy fix!
    • Use conditioner, not only will it leave your legs feeling super soft, but the conditioner will soften the hair on your legs making it easier to shave.
  • You just ran out of clear brow gel...and your brows have a mind of their own. No problem!
    • Use a clean spoolie, or a new toothbrush, and spritz some hairspray and brush your brows as desired. They will stay in place all day long.
  • Having trouble applying glue to your falsies??
    • Use the tip of a bobby pin to evenly disperse the glue along the base of your falsies. Then, wait a few seconds for the glue to get tacky and apply!
  • Want your eyeliner to withhold all day!? Easy fix!
    • Apply matching eyeshadow over it. This seals your eyeliner and helps it last much longer!
  • You sprayed WAY too much perfume on, now what?!
    • Dab rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball on your skin. The alcohol will cut the scent without altering it.
  • Suffering from super dry, chapped lips? Head on to your pantry!
    • Easy lip exfoliator--olive oil and sugar. Mix the two until you get a gritty texture. Exfoliate and moisturize, all at the same time.
  • It's late and you forgot to pick up some makeup remover...
    • No worries, use some baby oil or olive oil...just don't sleep with your makeup on.
  • Applying mascara and you get it all over your eyelid?
    • Don't panic! Let it dry completely, then with a Q-tip or a spoolie, simply flick it off! Yep, it's THAT easy! Trying to clean it up while it's still wet will create a bigger mess.

Extras

  • Blowing hot air on your eyelash curler will help your lashes curl easier and stay curled longer. To do it, hit the lash curler with your blow dryer until it heats up, wait until it cools slightly but is still warm (you want to be sure not to burn your eyelid), and then clamp down on your lashes to curl them.
  • You're only supposed to keep mascara for three months, because beyond that point, it can collect bacteria and lead to eye infections. However, if your mascara dries up within those three months revive it with a couple drops of saline solution or eye drops.
  • Keep your eyes open when applying liquid liner — otherwise your line will look uneven. Apply by drawing three dashes, one on the corner, one in the middle, and one on the inside corner of your eye. Then go back and connect the dashes for a smooth line.
  • Dip freshly painted nails in cold water to make polish dry faster. The colder the water, the faster they will dry.
  • To lock in moisture post-shower, pat — don't rub — yourself dry, and coat skin in a thick alpha-hydroxy lotion.Alpha-hydroxy lotions work by removing the top layers of dead skin cells. They can also increase the thickness of deeper layers of skin, promoting firmness.
  • Never pump your mascara wand. This puts air into the tube, causing it to dry out sooner.
