On Tuesday, I got meet a blog friend in person for the first time!  I had the priviledge of meeting Jen from Whimsy At Heart and it was awesome!  Essential oils brought us together and we talk so often about what is working and what isn't for each of us and our families.  I just love her heart for God, family and health and am so grateful for her friendship.

Whimsy at Heart

She has been so helpful in helping me learn about Young Living Essential Oils and I'm loving them so far!  I'll post more about my experiences with them in the future.

I've had to work from home three days this week, because our granite is being installed in our kitchen.  We're so excited about the results!  Once it's all set up and cleaned, I'll be doing a post about our kitchen transformation for sure!  Here's a sneak peek...

{FOUR}

Quick and easy recipe idea that you can do at the beginning of the week!  Since I knew that our kitchen would be out of commission for the week, I baked 6 chicken breasts on Sunday for us to heat up on 3 of the evenings.  I used BBQ sauce and dried chopped onion on two of them, green chilis and tomatillo sauce on two more, and olive oil and lemon pepper seasoning (and a tiny bit of kosher salt) on the last two.  Yum! This is also a great idea for pre-making lunches for the week ahead.

I'm teaming up with Mia from Make Me Up Mia for a new monthly link-up!  Every first Wednesday of the month, we'll be posting about our monthly favorites and would love for you to join us!  I posted about my May Favorites HERE.  I used these categories: beauty, health, fashion and food, but feel free to do whatever you like in your Monthly Faves post if you're linking-up!  We hope you join us for our first one on July 2!

Have a wonderful weekend, chickadees!!!

  1. The chicken looks delicious. I love to meal prep at the beginning of the week but I always do the same kind of chicken. I need to switch it up! Also, the granite looks great and looks very similar to what I have and I love it! So, good choice! Have a great weekend!

  2. Ok. Still SO jealous of your kitchen. We have so much work to do here!
We bake chicken for the week for our lunches. Chicken, sweet potatoes and green beans or spinach. That is our lunch almost every day. A little boring but super healthy.
And I'm looking forward to the link up. I need to get my behind in gear and get mine up and running. You are so far ahead of me.
Oh! And I put the oil on Little A's feet last night! She loved the smell and slept well. Didn't sleep in any longer than usual, but maybe tonight she will.

I hope this weekend is more relaxing for you than the week was Kelli!

  14. I'm so honored to "make an appearance" on your blog today! It's been such a blessing to get to know you better and it was super cool to meet you in person! And, I'm glad that both of our husband's fears about us meeting an "online blog friend" were unfounded. ;) I look forward to many years of our friendship growing as we share our love of God, blogging, and essential oils. :) And, your granite looks amazing!

  15. Oh my goodness! So many cool things here!

First off... BBQ - yum! Looks fabulous! We don't have a BBQ and the hubs really doesn't want to get one. So needless to say, I salivate over others' BBQ pictures and posts.

Secondly, we have similar tastes when it comes to kitchen design. My hubs and I renovated our kitchen about 6 years ago. Take a look at this photo and you'll see what I mean: http://thedeliberatemom.com/in-the-kitchen#.U5xccJRdVIE

You must be so excited that your kitchen is almost done!

I would love to meet a real life blogging friend. I'm sure I would be a bawling, blubbering mess though!

Congratulations to Heather for winning the giveaway. I forgot to come back and enter! Ahhh, life with children... I always forget what I'm doing.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

  19. I am finally catching up on blog posts from my vacation (I have 258 left! Eeek!), but just LOVE your granite countertops and quick meal ideas. I use chicken a lot for my lunch meal prep, but never thought to try it with dried chopped onion. Genius!

    1. Haha! I know the feeling! Thank you so much! Yeah I think I first heard of using dried chopped onion in a crockpot chicken recipe with cranberries and BBQ sauce so I kind of stole it from that :) It makes everything better!
